Our current home has a 21/12 pitch roof, which is extremely steep. For our cottage design, we don’t plan on going steeper than 16/12, which should still be steep enough to help create the cottage aesthetic that we are looking for. The word comes from England where it originally was a house that has a ground floor, with a first, lower story of bedrooms which fit within the roof space. Central to the home, the open-plan living, dining, and kitchen areas provide a cozy yet spacious environment, perfect for both entertaining guests and intimate family dinners.
